I competed in NaNoWriMo again this year, the annual contest to try and pen more than 50 thousand words of a new novel during the month of November.
I woke up early on Thanksgiving morning and penned a few more words, and when the kids started walking up I plugged my word count into the NaNo site and Shazam! 50,454 words popping me over the 50 thousand
threshold and granting me the title of Winner!
I have to say, last year when I sat down to write it was a huge adjustment to my life, making the time to write that much. But write I did, and as we know, that gave birth to the book so many of you have kindly purchased and supported.
This year I balanced writing and real life again but added the new duties of managing multiple author-related social media platforms and the publication and promotion of my current book. I looked around mid-month and said, "If I pull this off I'm going to see just how much I am capable of."
At times it was overwhelming and stressful but I pushed through because it was also a joy. I am hoping to have the book I'm working on now out sometime next fall, if all goes according to plan.
Thank you all again for your continued support and encouragement!
